Great River Rescue Privacy Policy

Great River Rescue (GRR) values the privacy of our donors, customers and visitors. GRR collects information to only help us better serve our donors and customers. It is our policy to collect and store only personal information that is knowingly provided to us. We will not sell, share or trade our donors' names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.

Personal Information Collected
Great River Rescue may collect names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails from adopters, adoption applicants, those relinquishing pets, and donors. Additionally, adopters and those relinquishing a pet are required to provide a copy of a Driver’s License or other photo ID. GRR collects and stores contact information from individuals as it is knowingly provided to us, including email addresses. GRR does not distribute personal information or email addresses to third parties. We use this information to contact individuals via phone, email, and mail to follow-up on adoptions, provide information on events and activities, and provide opportunities to contribute to our cause. You may choose at any time not to provide personally identifiable information, although this may restrict our ability to provide requested services or information.

Cookies - Many websites, including Great River Rescue’s, use cookies, pieces of numeric data stored on your computer so that we can identify when you return to our website. GRR can only "read" cookies that are placed on your computer from our own website. Usage of cookies is not linked to any personally identifiable information. You can select to disable cookies by changing your browser settings. If you choose to disable cookies in your browser, you will not be able to access portions of our website content.

Financial Data Security
GRR does not disclose credit card account information provided by its donors and customers. When donors and customers choose to pay by credit card, GRR submits this information directly to a secure credit card processor.

Photographs
GRR takes photographs during public events and solicits photographs from our donors and adopters and occasionally selects quality photos for distribution via this website, social media, or other means. Photos are taken in public settings during public events. If you are included in a photograph and would prefer that it not be distributed, please contact GRR at info@greatriverrescue.com and let us know what photo and where you saw it. We will do our best to remove it from circulation.

Analytics
GRR collects data through Google analytics to track the location and number of visitors to our website.

Choice to Opt Out
GRR provides all individuals and customers the opportunity to opt out of having your personal information used for certain purposes. If you are a member of GRR, have registered for an event, no longer wish to receive promotional communications, or would like GRR to erase any personal data we hold about you, you may opt out of receiving communications by email at info@greatriverrescue.com. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
